Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual 5000 year old practice with its origin in India, Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. On December 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga which is the summer.
The United Nations headquarters were illuminated yesterday with striking images of yoga postures while hundreds gathered at Times Square in New York City to practice yoga.
Ahead of the big day, multiple preparatory events were held across the US, UK and Australia.
Also in Delhi, President Pranab Mukherjee start to the Yoga Day with a session at Rashtrapati Bhavan where around 1,000 people took part.
Yoga is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By fast changing lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us deal with climate change.
